What’s Your Story?
What’s Your Story was launched in 2017 - a time when we thought and expected we would run one conference and that would be it. It wasn’t.
Our storytellers inspired the room, the people in the room connected with each other on levels and in ways that we could not predict. What emerged was the impact of the power of storytelling, the sharing of lived experiences and the willingness to hold and be held because in life, we all are leaders and our role as leaders and as individuals is to ensure that the world we leave when we eventually do is a world that is in a better place for those coming behind us.
We have been running What’s Your Story in December of every year since then.
What’s Your Story is therefore no ordinary conference. Come along with your colleagues, friends and family and join me Yetunde Hofmann and a community of awesome storytellers from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experiences every December. For example, these are CEOs, people between homes, Students, Consultants, MDs, Board Chairs, Public and Private sector leaders and more.
Our Storytellers are leaders willing to share their stories of life and experiences from a place of who they are, not what they do or have. Due to the incredibly personal nature of the stories, they are only available in full on the day. You therefore cannot afford to miss out.
A Taster of Experiences
Here is what your typical day at What’s Your Story? could be like…
Firstly, you’ll be spending a day with 12 inspirational speakers who will share their stories from a place of who they are – these are people who have inspired and inspire me, and I just know they will inspire you too. You will also spend a day with people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and lives – that in knowing them you will feel enriched as they will with you.
You’ll start your day with a warm welcome from our team of volunteers and if you are early, you may be able to grab some breakfast. You’ll pick up your badge – first names only – and be shown to our conference room.
Once settled, the day will begin with your first set of storytellers. You’ll be encouraged and will pick up some insights, advice, and tips that you can immediately apply to relevant areas of your life.
You will also have the opportunity to share your own thoughts and perspectives as members of our audience are invited, if they wish, to contribute to the day by sharing their reflections and takeaways.
This will happen throughout the day. During coffee breaks and lunch time breaks you can carry on your discussions whilst you make new connections, deepen old ones, and diversify your personal network and friendship groups. Yes, you will make new friends too!
At the end of the day, you’ll be smiling like never before, and will be saying goodbye full of a deeper sense of joy, a spring in your step, a renewed hope that the next year will be a good one and an extra bounce because you will have secured your early bird ticket for the following year. Why? Because many of our attendees find themselves returning time every year!
